As the world paused to remember Prince Philip, a singer formerly of Dunedin was one of two New Zealanders to take part in the funeral at the Prince's request. There were just 30 mourners allowed inside St George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions in Britain. The choir at Prince Philip's funeral included Kiwi-born tenor Nicholas Madden. New Zealand's Defence representative Lofty Hayward was seen on camera wearing a kahu huruhuru (Māori cloak) as he waited for Philip's custom-built Land Rover hearse to arrive outside St George's Chapel.
