Former Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington set to make step up to League One with move from Fleetwood to Bolton

Former Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington is set to leave Fleetwood Town and join Bolton Wanderers in a permanent move expected to go through in the next 24 hours. The 25-year-old Cork native hopes the move will boost his prospects of getting into the Wales squad on a more regular basis. Harrington began his career at Cobh Ramblers before moving to Cork City where he progressed through the academy before making his league debut in 2021. But this term he has yet to make a league appearance for Fleetwood, with Jay Lynch the current first choice and now Harrington is set to end his time at the club for a move to Steven Schumacher’s Bolton. The club are currently sixth in League One and firmly in the race for the play-offs, while they also sit nine points off automatic promotion.
