Former Canterbury assistant coach Scott Hansen has been released by English premiership club Leicester Tigers, just five games into the new season. Hansen shifted from Christchurch to join Leicester mid-way through last year, working for the club as a defence and halfback coach. His move to the English powerhouse club followed the appointment of Aaron Mauger, who had worked with Hansen at Canterbury, as head coach. Hansen's exit from Leicester coincides with Canterbury advertising for a new head coach to replace Scott Robertson, who has accepted a three-year contract to coach the Crusaders next season.
