Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah is going through a rough stretch in his young professional career but he has the full backing of a former Jays star. “Times likes these are when true athletes are transformed,” Stroman tweeted Wednesday morning, predicting a successful return to the major league for Manoah. “I can’t wait for Manoah to get back to the MLB and make y’all eat your words. In his last MLB game against the Houston Astros, he allowed six runs on seven hits across one third of an inning. The former first-round pick spent the past two weeks at the Jays’ complex in Dunedin, Fla., pitching in simulated games and trying to straighten out any mechanical issues.
