Mamata's land movement in 2007-08 had prompted the Tatas to move its Nano car project from Bengal to Gujarat. Today, Mamata said the Tatas would not have to "face problem" for land. The chief minister did not clarify which "one place" she wanted the Tatas to "forget" or the nature of the problem her government would end to help the salt-to-software group set up industry in Bengal. Her statement coming within a week of the Supreme Court judgment on the Singur land acquisition left little to imagination. Their statements echoed Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry's words on August 24.
