The Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria (WFAN) has commended the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for its move to restrict forex for wheat importation into the country. Addressing journalists, on Thursday, in Abuja, the WFAN National President Salim Muhammad said the country spends $6.1 billion annually importing wheat. “Nigeria consumes five million metric tons of wheat per annum, while a meagre 420,000 tons are produced locally.
