The incident occurred on Jecentho Rd in Peria, Northland. A forestry worker has been badly injured after being trapped in machinery in the Far North. However by 6pm, St John spokeswoman Beverley Tse said the person was seriously injured and had been taken to Whangārei Hospital by helicopter. Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) spokesman Steve Johnston said it received a report of a forestry worker stuck in machinery on Jecentho Rd, in Peria, east of Kaitaia, about 3.50pm on Wednesday.
