General News of Thursday, 8 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Forestry Commission has vehemently condemned the killing of one of its staff, Raphael Ganyo, a Resource Guard of the Wildlife Division stationed at the Kalakpa Resource Reserve in the Volta Region. Ganyo was fatally shot in the early hours of January 6, 2026, while on patrol duty near Zitoe Camp. The Forestry Commission is working closely with the Ghana Police Service to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. He was employed by the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission on November 1, 2021, as a Resource Guard and served as a member of the Law Enforcement Unit until his untimely demise. The Forestry Commission extends its deepest condolences to the family, colleagues, and loved ones of Mr Raphael Ganyo.
