Forest fire policy fuels hazeEach dry season, the toxic haze returns with forest fires. In Lampang, for example, authorities banned people from entering 33 national forest areas for 51 days this year. But Thailand's criminalise both forest dwellers and almost any use of fire in forest areas. But forest fires are only one part of the haze crisis. Change is not possible when the forest authorities hold on to central control and blame the forest villagers for their failure.
