Police have completed forensic testing on two properties in Otautau following the death of a 9-year-old boy. A young person has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the death last week. They appeared in the Invercargill Youth Court and did not enter a plea. A police spokesperson said today that both properties in the small Southland town have been blessed and released. Police thanked the public for their help and said their presence in the town would continue "with a focus on reassurance'' during the ongoing investigation.
