Detective Branch Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Nazmul Alam said the arrests were made on Friday during separate raids at the city's Uttara and Badda. He said three foreign nationals were among those arrested, but did not disclose identities of those arrested. They used to con people by sending fraud text messages of winning awards and by posing as buyers of apparel products, added the senior police officer. "ATM cards, SIM cards, mobile phones, laptop and bank cheques have been seized from them."
