Foreign participation expected to join World #QuranHour on Aug 31

KUALA LUMPUR: Muslim communities in South Korea, New Zealand and Australia have pledged their support to join a local programme called the World #QuranHour. The involvement of overseas Muslims is due to the efforts by alumni of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Programme secretariat coordinator Siti Aisyah Ibrahim said the three countries were expected to hold the World #QuranHour at various locations, with at least 50 participants at each location. Siti Aisyah added that the secretariat acknowledged the efforts of IIUM alumni in drawing participation from other countries, specifically foreign students at the university here. World #QuranHour will start at 8.30pm at Dataran Merdeka on Aug 31, as well as in selected mosques natiowide.
