Foreign Minister receives new Indian ambassador


The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, has received India’s newly appointed ambassador to Libya, Hifzur Rahman, at the ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli. Al-Baour welcomed the Indian envoy and wished him success in his diplomatic mission, reaffirming the ministry’s support for all procedures related to completing his accreditation as ambassador of India to Libya. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed existing bilateral relations and discussed ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He also underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation in digital technology, through the exchange of training programmes and capacity-building initiatives. For his part, the Indian ambassador expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, praising the long-standing and close historical ties between India and Libya.
