The Brazilian Ford Courier from 1998 was a 'proper' ute based on the small Fiesta. Ford’s upcoming small ute, to be called Maverick, is reportedly in line to receive a hybrid powertrain. Specific details aren’t clear but the Escape Hybrid uses a 2.5-litre petrol inline-four combustion engine paired with two electric motors for a combined output of 149kW.
