Mustang Mach-E Police Pilot Image FordAs the current dominant provider of police vehicles in the US market, Ford is no newcomer to offering electrified powertrains to law enforcement. Ford released images of a police package Mustang Mach-E making the rounds in the UK and this weekend, a similar vehicle will be hitting the track in Michigan. Every September, the Michigan State Police conducts a round up of all the currently available police package vehicles and conducts several days of instrumented testing and other evaluations. Ford hasn’t made an official commitment to offer a police version of the Mach-E yet, but it has prepared a prototype for agencies to evaluate. Ford commercial vehicles spokesman Dan Pierce told Forbes that if the testing goes well, an electric police vehicle may be offered in the future.
