BigStockPhotoI recently had the opportunity to deliver a keynote speech on the concept of wealth: how should we define it and what makes one feel wealthy? But wealth is not defined by those “things.” I realized I needed to think beyond the material concepts of wealth. Recent comments by the enormously successful Bill Gates helped solidify this thought for me: wealth needs to be connected to a value system to realize important goals. Einstein said that one should, “ Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. Those who are able should use wealth to create something of value for people in their businesses—employees, customers, shareholders, and owners.
