Since April 29, 2019, the civic body has issued 105 notices against people who were caught urinating in public and 330 notices for spitting in public. Of the total challans issued, the highest was in the east zone for open urination and spitting. The civic body has served notice to 62 people for urinating and 131 notices for spitting in public places. For public urination, they have collected Rs 10,600 in fines and issued notices to 105 people. The authorities on Monday announced that they are going to launch electric autorickshaws which would fine traffic offenders and spitting violators.
