While some of Canada's most revered non-profit organizations are struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic, others have already been defeated and forced to close their doors permanently. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada location in Edson, Alta., has notified the community it won't be able to reopen. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada normally offer after school programs like this one at the Kingston and Area club. Sector calls for more government helpThe federal government has already provided some support to the sector, in the form of the $350 million Emergency Community Support Fund. The Red Cross, the United Way and the Community Foundations of Canada will disburse the funds to non-profits and charities that help "vulnerable populations who are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19."
