President Temer of Brazil has labor unions and progressive activists and celebrities terrified that their democracy, like here, has been "usurped" in a disgusting, misogynistic, "right-wing" coup. Temer became president then. For example, chief economists at Brazil's biggest banks all pay banker union fees even though they are not union members. Lula was elected twice and followed by Dilma, his hand-picked successor and Brazil's first female president. Temer or no Temer, whoever is in power has to contend with that new constitutional amendment to cap spending, regardless.
