Banks tend to perform well during periods of higher interest rates and currency volatility. But extreme market volatility is good for no one. Bank shares recovered somewhat along with the rest of the market Tuesday, but over the past three trading days the KBW Nasdaq Bank Index has still fallen 5.1%, even greater than the 4.5% decline in the S&P 500.
