Football's new incidents of racism see top brass summoned by Sports Minister

Representatives of the FA, Premier League, Football League, players’ agents and anti-discrimination groups such as Stonewall and Kick It Out will be invited to a meeting at the end of this month. Sports Minister Mims Davies said: “Together we must find a way to tackle this. (Image: BPI/REX/Shutterstock)“But we will not stand by and watch people threaten these values with ugly acts of hatred. We cannot allow the minority to ruin it for the majority of us that love the sport.”The Premier League appealed to fans in December to be “positive and respectful” following allegations of racism and abuse. Chelsea responded to offensive songs about Tottenham fans sung during the Blues’ Europa League draw with MOL Vidi in Budapest by saying it “shamed the club”.
