District Collector Venkatesapathy S., chairman of the DTPC, said that the mud-ball tournament would help spread awareness against drugs amongst the youth. Apart from involving youngsters in this game of immense local interest, the tournament is also an attempt to campaign against drugs. He said the success of the tournament would be a factor in determining the conduct of the second edition of the Malabar Premier League (MPL) football. Unlike last year, MPL matches will be held at different parts of the district, said Mr. Venkatesapathy.
