Italy fans filled a downtown street in Hamilton on Sunday after their team won the European Championship for the second time, beating England in a penalty shootout. Hamilton police preemptively blocked off part of James Street North to allow for the celebrations that started shortly after 6 p.m. Hundreds of football fans flooded downtown Hamilton after Italy's big win, bringing flags and an almost deafening amount of noise. Flags, dancing, loud music and wigs were all part of the celebrations in Hamilton after Italy's win. Many among the hundreds of people on James Street North Sunday held hands and danced to celebrate Italy's victory.
