CAIRO – Egyptian football fans are angry with Al-Merrikh, one of Sudan’s top football teams, for asking to play their match against Egyptian team Al-Ahly in a continental competition not in Sudan, but in Ethiopia. However, Egyptian supporters accuse the Sudanese team of seeking to rekindle tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia. “The Sudanese club are well aware of the problems between the two countries.”At the bottom of this anger are tensions between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia over water sharing.
