Football Association of Ireland apologise after pro-IRA chants following Scotland win


THE Football Association of Ireland have apologised after players appeared to chant a pro-IRA song following the win over Scotland. Vera Pauw's Republis of Ireland side reached the World Cup for the first time with a win over Scotland at Hampden last night. But a video clip of celebrations was shared online which appeared to show Ireland players singing a pro-IRA chant in the changing rooms. The FAI and Pauw offered apologies after the celebrations with a statement realeased today. "I have spoken with players this morning and we are sorry collectively for any hurt caused, there can be no excuse for that.”
