There was plenty of excitement in the air as 80,000 fans showed up for the 91st edition of the Malaysia Cup final between Kedah and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the Shah Alam Stadium last night. In contrast, there were 200 buses ferrying JDT fans to the stadium. The noise in the stadium went up a notch when JDT and Kedah stepped onto the pitch for their warm-up at 8.30pm. Before the start of the match, the fans had a glimpse of the Malaysia Cup — the most prestigious in Malaysia football — when veterans Salleh Mohd Noor (JDT) and Azmi Mahmud (Kedah) paraded the trophy around the stadium.
