Foodstuffs silent on supermarket

Foodstuffs is not releasing any details about a proposed redevelopment of Centre City New World. Details of Foodstuffs’ proposed multimillion-dollar Dunedin CBD supermarket redevelopment remain shrouded in secrecy and the food giant has not responded to a request for any details. The medical trio are expecting to make an announcement of relocating together to an as yet unidentified site, not far from the hospital. Foodstuffs chief executive Steve Anderson and general manager of property Roger Davidson were contacted for comment on Thursday, but the ODT was referred to Foodstuffs’ communications team, in Auckland. The ODT inquiries concerned the size of the supermarket, car park extension, its potential to close during redevelopment, how much the development was costing and whether it would require resource consent, or merely a building permit.
