In Cork Harbour, there was no second cross-river ferry in operation between Glenbrook and Rushbrooke due to the fog. This week the Evening Echo reported that traffic volumes around the city have been increasing in recent months and years, with the South Ring N40, in particular, seeing an extra 8,000 vehicles per day. The latest figures reveal that 87,000 vehicles are on parts of the road every day this year, giving a clear picture of worsening commuter problems in Cork.
