Whopper invasive Burmese pythons are being caught in the Florida everglades as the US state trials a paid hunting programme in a bid to get rid of the animals. The second-longest catch was made by Nicholas Banos and trapping partner Leonardo Sanchez, whose python measured 4.6m and weighed 65.3kg. CBS News reported Banos and Sanchez spotted their snake in scrub on the side of a levee, or stopbank. Pythons cause significant impacts to native prey, such as marsh rabbits, wading birds and other warm-blooded animals," the district said.
