A Florida history teacher said Monday she was fired for refusing to give half-credit to students who failed to turn in their assignments. Tirado told WPTV she has been a teacher for 17 years and was hired by the school in August. She told the station she assigned her students a notebook project and gave them two weeks to complete the work. She said a few students didn’t bring in the assignment, and that's when she learned about the school’s “no zero” policy. Tirado told WPTV she denied “any criminal allegations” and was “looking into suing the district for defamation.”The Associated Press contributed to this report.
