A fourth-grade teacher was arrested Monday after allegedly bringing a loaded gun and two knives into her classroom at Starkey Elementary School in Seminole, Fla., officials said. Betty Jo Soto, 49, faces two misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon after police discovered a Glock 9mm pistol loaded with seven bullets “hidden” in a backpack, according to the arrest report. Officials said Soto was acting suspiciously and carried the backpack with her on campus. Soto had a concealed weapons permit, but the license does not allow someone to bring a weapon onto school property, an official said.
