A Florida sheriff has warned that gang members are organizing large COVID-19 parties of up to 400 people to spread the virus among themselves. Sheriff Gibson told Click Orlando that he believes those gathered are 'trying to mingle to potentially spread the virus among each other'. Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson said 'residents are afraid''And you have to think beyond the moment. They did the right thing, they backed out, they waited for extra resources to arrive and then we went in and took care of the party,' Gibson told Click Orlando. Much of the outbreak is concentrated in Southern Florida, where areas like Miami-Dade and Broward County have become swamped in cases.
