Florida is one many states that’s convened a task force to figure out the best ways to reopen the state’s economy while officials continue to try and contain the spread of the coronavirus. But DeSantis’ task force might be even more aggressive than him. Interestingly enough, the only sports executive on DeSantis’ task force is Florida Panthers CEO Matthew Caldwell, which pales in comparison to Gov. The White House’s various economic recovery groups include many sports dignitaries, including Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and several commissioners. The recommendation of Florida’s task force to reopen sports venues Monday is reckless, and casts doubt upon all of its recommendations going forward.
