With the continuing erosion of the Padma River at different points, some 100 families have been rendered homeless in Naria upazila since Friday last. A big portion of Naria Upazila Health Complex and a mosque adjacent to the hospital also washed away. A 1.5km area, from Naria Banshtola to Purba Naria, was washed away by the river. The officials of the Water Development Board (WDB) said the water level of the Brahmaputra was 7cm above its danger level at Fulchharighat point in the district.
