Floods kill seven miners in Lao CaiFloods killed at least seven gold miners in Lao Cai Province’s Van Ban District, while sweeping away their tents early Saturday morning, instead of two deaths as reported earlier. At least 7 gold miners died because of flood and landslide last weekends in the province. Chairman of Van Ban District People’s Committee Do Van Duy has confirmed the deaths. Local authorities said the five funerals were of gold miners in Van Ban District. Dianmu, the third of its kind to batter Vietnam this year, swept through the northern provinces over the weekend after making landfall on Friday.
