Flooding closes local road in Lower HuttSupplied A car succumbs to the flooding on Block Rd, Lower Hutt. A car has been spotted fully submerged in water on a Lower Hutt road after flash flooding. The surface flooding has closed Block Rd in Lower Hutt, north of Wellington, on Thursday evening. The local road was shut down shortly after 9:30pm as the lower North Island experienced heavy rain. Meanwhile on the other side of the Hutt River, near the Waimarie Croquet Club, a motor home was also caught by the floods.
