Flood situation worsens as water level in Ganges basin starts rising again


While the flood situation in most of the districts is in a stable state, they are under the severe threat of river erosion. The rivers were flowing below the danger level at 23 points, while above danger mark at five points Wednesday morning. The Jamuna River declined by 17 cm at Sariakandi in Bogra, 18 cm at Kazipur in Sirajganj and 11 cm at Sirajganj points, reports our Sirajganj correspondent Aminul Islam Khan Rana. Meanwhile in Pabna, the water level of Jamuna is receding but the Padma River has been swelling 3cm above the danger mark on Wednesday morning, reports our Pabna correspondent Emroz Khandaker Bappi. However, the rivers were flowing below the danger level at 10 points, while above danger mark at six points on Wednesday morning, reports our Rajshahi correspondent Dulal Abdullah.
