As flood situation continues to worsen in the northern region, relief goods have not yet reached many remote areas. According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) of Bangladesh Water Development Board, flood situation in Kurigram and Rangpur districts is likely to improve a bit in the next one-two days, but the situation in Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj may continue to worsen. DinajpurA total of 54,950 flood affected families have so far been accommodated in 192 shelter centres across the district. Flood reliefs reaching those shelter centres are inadequate and most of the people has remained half-fed for long, according to officials. Border Guard Bangladesh Director General Maj Gen Abul Hossain visited the flood affected villages in Kamdevpur border area under Biral upazila yesterday.
