THE Pengkalan Bongor flood relief hall in Penaga on mainland Penang has been converted into the Penaga Youth Centre. State youth and sports committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said the state government is planning to establish similar youth centres in the other 39 constituencies in Penang. He congratulated Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) for successfully converting the hall into a youth centre, which is equipped with various facilities accessible to locals, in just six months. “Together with PYDC, my office hopes to establish youth centres at all constituencies in the state, ” he said after launching the Penaga Youth Centre recently. According to Soon, the Penaga Youth Centre is the first such facility established in the state.
