Flood Barrier in South Sinai - Press PhotoCAIRO - 5 December 2018: In preparation for the winter season, the Ministry of Irrigation and Water resources built in South Sinai flood barriers, redirection channels, underground flood water storages, and dug up flood storage surface lakes, and mountain lakes.Those were constructed in Saint Catherine Valley, Abo Redis Valley, Hithi Valley, Firan Valley and Nuweiba’sWatir Valley, Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aty told press on Wednesday.The flood control systems in Saint Catherine protect the residents of NabiSaleh, and Esbaeya, while the others protect strategic establishments and roads in Nuweiba; that is in addition to benefiting from stored water.
