Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Prashanta Kumar Das inaugurated the MV Surovi-8 launch as the new isolation unit at Barisal Launch Terminal on Friday. Speaking on the matter, Rizwaunul Kabir, director of Crescent Shipping Corporation, also the owner of the launch said: "There are 42 single cabins, 34 double cabins, 2 semi VIP and 4 VIP cabins in the vessel." Until Saturday, Bangladesh has confirmed 2,144 Covid-19 cases. Among them, 84 patients died while 58 have recovered so far.
