Walmart and Amazon are eyeing a majority stake in Flipkart at a valuation of about $20 billion. Walmart, Amazon and Flipkart declined to comment. If completed, the deal would give Walmart a major stake in an emerging market of 1.3 billion people. Still, an Amazon deal would be much more complicated than one with Walmart, said one person. A $20 billion price tag would be substantially higher than Flipkart valuation of about $12 billion last year.
