Flipkart, Amazon India and Jabong have identified new seller entities and reduce dependence on legacy single entities; others like Myntra are yet to alter their businesses. The new FDI laws had proved to be a temporary stumbling block for online retailers until now, forcing Flipkart and Amazon India, in particular, to put important sales events on hold. While, Flipkart and Amazon claim to be marketplaces, a significant chunk of their sales come from WS Retail and Cloutail India, respectively. Earlier this month, Mint reported that Flipkart has identified at least four large seller entities including Health & Happiness Pvt. On Thursday Mint reported , online fashion retailer Jabong too has shifted to a marketplace model ahead of a potential sale to e-commerce firm Snapdeal.com.
