The state government, in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus, has made it mandatory for all people returning from abroad to spend a week at a paid quarantine centre before going home. “Only 28 fliers agreed to go to a paid quarantine unit, while the remaining 140 refused. A person has to pay Rs 1,800 a day to stay at a paid quarantine unit. “None went to a paid quarantine centre. A health department official said action would be taken according to rules and the matter would be discussed on Thursday.
