Maleace Asamoah, whose dad is Blues hero Derek, has joined League One club Fleetwood Town. The 20-year-old winger has joined the development squad of the club who are United’s first opponents of the 2023/24 season. Asamoah junior recently played with non-league side New Salamis, where he featured in the team alongside his father. His impressive displays caught the eye of Fleetwood and he now joins the professional ranks at the EFL club. Maleace’s team-mates in Matthew Lawlor’s young Fleetwood squad will be ex-Carlisle striker Sam Fishburn, who also signed for them this week following his release from the Blues.
