General News of Monday, 8 June 2020Source: www.ghanaweb.comFlashback: Kufuor orders Akufo-Addo, 7 other ministers to resignFormer President John Agyekum KufuorFormer President John Agyekum Kufuor, in June 2007 demanded the resignation of eight cabinet ministers which included current president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Mr. Kufuor explained that the ministers who were aspiring to win the presidential candidate nomination had 'peaked before time'. He is said to have disagreed with the President’s decision, citing the party constitution which only demands resignation of Ministers after they have filed their nominations. Yet, he is being asked to resign alongside a handful who were known to have kicked off their campaigns much earlier. Indeed, Mr Arthur was a very close political ally to Mr Kufuor and was instrumental in raising funds for candidate Kufuor before 2001.
