Officials said rains on Tuesday night caused runoff from Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park to surge in Tha Nae dyke in Tambon Khao Ya. The deluge prompted irrigation officials to open the dyke’s sluice, releasing water that flooded Moo 7 and Moo 9 villages in Tambon Chamuang and Moo 11 village in Tambon Khuan Khanoon. Floodwaters were about 30 to 40 centimetres high.
