BUFFALO — Calgary Flames associate coach Geoff Ward says he hasn’t seen or spoken to Bill Peters over the past couple of days. With general manager Brad Treliving promising a “thorough” investigation of the allegations against the head coach, Ward will run the bench for the visiting squad during Wednesday’s clash against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center. “I think it’s good that it’s a game day,” Ward said after an optional morning skate. Now, everybody is waiting for what seems inevitable — a press release from the Flames indicating their head coach has been fired or dismissed or relieved of his duties or however they want to put it. Later on in the day, I was told that I was going to coach the game tonight.
