The Calgary Flames added some defensive depth prior to Monday’s trade deadline, welcoming Oscar Fantenberg in a swap with the Los Angeles Kings. The 27-year-old Fantenberg has suited up for 46 games so far this season with the Kings, registering two goals, one assist and a minus-2 rating. He has also been credited with 72 hits and 65 blocked shots. Both the acquisition cost — the Kings receive a fourth-round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft — and salary-cap hit are relatively low. Fantenberg, a left-handed shot, arrives in the final months of a one-year contract worth US$650,000.
