Toronto and the GTA are under a special weather advisory ahead of an expected 5 to 10 centimetres of snow on Friday, says Environment Canada. According to the weather agency, snowfall is predicted to begin after noon and will continue into the evening. In a statement released around 5 a.m. Friday, the forecaster says “Snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres are expected in most areas by the time the snow ends by midnight.”Steve Knott, an Environment Canada meteorologist, says that 5 centimetres of snow will be on the ground by 6 p.m. Friday, which will be the main concern for drivers. “It will probably be enough to disrupt the afternoon commute,” he said.
